Newlywed Charles Leclerc’s Honeymoon Plan Fizzles as F1 Season Opener Takes Priority

Newlywed Charles Leclerc’s Honeymoon Plan Fizzles as F1 Season Opener Takes Priority — 1 of 4

In a recent Italian podcast interview, Charles Leclerc opened up about his less-than-romantic start to married life with Alexandra Saint Mleux. The Ferrari driver and his new bride tied the knot in Monaco, only to board a flight to Australia less than 24 hours later. Instead of a tropical getaway, the couple headed straight to the opening Grand Prix. Leclerc even tried to pitch Albert Park as the ultimate honeymoon destination, but Alexandra wasn’t convinced. “I tried to sell the Grand Prix to Alexandra as our honeymoon,” he laughed. Despite the wedding detour, Leclerc delivered a thrilling performance under F1’s new regulations. Starting fourth, he fought his way onto the podium with a hard-fought third place, promising Alexandra that a proper honeymoon is still on the cards.

I get the sacrifice, but isn't that just part of being in a global sport? Seems expected, not extraordinary.
