Wike Dismisses Banditry Claims, Insists Abuja Remains Secure

Wike Dismisses Banditry Claims, Insists Abuja Remains Secure

FCT Minister Nyesom Wike says Abuja is secure despite reports of banditry. He acknowledges that crime exists but insists claims of persistent banditry are exaggerated. While inspecting ongoing projects on Monday, Wike noted isolated kidnapping incidents in parts of the territory. He praised security agencies for their swift response and the successful rescue of recent victims in Bwari. He argued that highlighting one crime without recognizing numerous prevented attacks undermines the work of security operatives. Wike called for greater acknowledgement of their achievements rather than focusing solely on isolated incidents.
