Fix Your Heart on Christ, Not the World

The Spirit through the Apostle John issues a clear command: do not love the world’s system. This refers not to the earth itself, but to the godless values driven by lust, pride and self-interest. Your affection must be set on heavenly realities. As Colossians 3:1-2 reminds us, seeking the things above aligns our hearts with God’s purpose. Loving the world leaves no room for the Father’s love. Consider Demas in 2 Timothy 4:10. Once a trusted companion of Paul, he abandoned ministry because he loved this present world. Worldliness begins in the heart and pulls us away from our divine calling. Today, choose to live by Christ’s standards. Let His cross be your glory and His Word your guide. Pray that your affections remain fixed on Him and your life reflects His will. Prayer Dear Father, thank you for Your Word that shapes my heart. I set my affection on You. Help me walk in the fullness of my calling. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
