My Controversial Views on What Makes a Marriage Work
In my view, a man is more likely to have a stable marriage when both partners respect each other, communicate openly and share responsibility for the home. I value a wife who is supportive, present in her children’s lives, keeps healthy boundaries with past relationships and protects private matters within the marriage. I also believe both partners should encourage each other’s growth. However, I think a successful marriage should not be built on one partner being less educated, less wealthy or expected to tolerate infidelity. Trust, fidelity, mutual respect and shared decision-making should apply equally to both spouses.
