The 2026 CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) kicks off on 25 July in Morocco and runs until 16 August. This landmark edition expands from 12 to 16 teams, delivering more drama and representing women’s football across Africa. Morocco makes history by hosting three straight WAFCON tournaments. Matches will take place in Rabat, Casablanca and Fes at state-of-the-art stadiums. Nigeria’s Super Falcons aim for an unprecedented 11th title in Group C. Their opening games in Casablanca are: • Nigeria vs Malawi – 28 July, 21:00 WAT • Nigeria vs Zambia – 1 August, 21:00 WAT • Nigeria vs Egypt – 5 August, 21:00 WAT Malawi’s Scorchers debut adds an exciting twist to the group. WAFCON 2026 also serves as Africa’s qualifying pathway for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brazil. The four semi-finalists earn direct tickets, while two others head to inter-continental play-offs.
