NANS Demands EFCC Retract Claim That 60% of University Students Engage in Cybercrime

NANS Demands EFCC Retract Claim That 60% of University Students Engage in Cybercrime

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has rejected the EFCC chairman’s claim that six in ten university students are involved in cybercrime. NANS Senate President Usman Adamu Nagwaza called the allegation misleading and damaging. He warned that such generalisations tarnish students’ reputations and undermine trust in the education system. The student body insisted Nigerian students are law-abiding and focused on their studies. It urged EFCC boss Ola Olukoyede to retract the statement in the interest of fairness and national integrity. NANS reaffirmed its support for combating financial crimes and called on government agencies to communicate with accuracy and balance.
