PAN Abuja Unveils Strategies to Revolutionize Poultry Farming at Mega Seminar

PAN Abuja Unveils Strategies to Revolutionize Poultry Farming at Mega Seminar

The Poultry Association of Nigeria (PAN), Abuja Chapter, held a Mega Poultry Farmers Seminar on Saturday, July 11, 2026. Farmers, industry experts and development partners gathered at the Gwagwalada Education Centre to explore ways to transform poultry farming in the FCT. Sessions included intensive training on modern brooding management, biosecurity measures and flock health. Facilitators shared best practices for disease prevention and efficient production techniques to boost yields and reduce losses. The newly elected PAN Abuja Executive Committee announced plans to lower production costs through collective procurement of day-old chicks and bulk purchase of quality feed. They also revealed ongoing talks with a major bank to secure improved credit access for members. Preparations for this year’s World Egg Day were also discussed. Participants emphasised the importance of promoting egg consumption and highlighting poultry’s contribution to food security, nutrition and economic growth in Nigeria.

It's great they gathered experts, but many farmers still face high feed costs and infrastructure gaps in Gwagwalada area.

I appreciate the seminar, but genuine progress depends on consistent follow-up support rather than one-off classroom sessions.
