Reaching New Heights in Prayer

In 1975, my Father in the Lord, Pa Josiah Akindayomi, stayed with me in my mud house in Ilesha. At night he prayed without ceasing, and when I woke at midnight and again at dawn, he was still on his knees. I asked if all was well, and he only said I would understand one day. God calls every believer to pray without ceasing, even when life seems smooth. No matter how fervent your current prayer life, you can always go higher. Never settle for your milestones or let complacency set in. After I became General Overseer of The Redeemed Christian Church of God, I and six friends prayed nonstop for 36 hours. We rejoiced at what God revealed, yet soon learned of another man who prayed continuously for 30 days. Like Jacob wrestling until he received his blessing, God expects us to hold on in prayer and not faint. May the Lord empower you to exceed every level of devotion in every season of your life.
