Mark Hughes Mourns Son Alex After Sudden Passing at 38

Former Manchester United striker Mark Hughes and his wife Jill say they are “totally heartbroken” after the sudden loss of their son Alex at age 38. Alex, who served as player recruitment lead at Grimsby Town FC, is remembered as a devoted husband to Jessica, loving father to Sebastian and Leonardo, and caring brother to Curtis and Xenna. He began his football career as a player with Stockport County and Wrexham reserves before moving into performance analysis and recruitment roles at clubs including Blackburn Rovers, Manchester City, Fulham, AFC Fylde and Morecambe. Mark Hughes enjoyed a decorated playing career at Manchester United, Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Chelsea, winning multiple domestic and European trophies. He also earned 72 caps for Wales and later managed several clubs and the Welsh national team.

Perhaps a community memorial or scholarship fund in Alex's name could honor his memory while supporting aspiring players.
