Court Ruling Could Keep ADC Off 2027 Ballot
Let me break it down. ADC may miss the 2027 polls if its internal crisis is not resolved. A Court of Appeal order in March 2026 paused all party leadership. INEC has withdrawn recognition from both factions and will not accept ADC letters or monitor meetings until the dispute ends. The election body moved the presidential vote to January 2027. Deadlines to submit candidates and a digital membership register in April and May 2026 now threaten ADC’s participation. ADC leaders say the timetable penalizes smaller parties. If the court clears its leadership before May, ADC can contest normally. If not, it risks losing its spot on the ballot. Meanwhile, APC, PDP, LP, NNPP and SDP will still appear in 2027.
