Contractors Reject FG’s N700bn Disbursement Claim, Renew Protest Over Delayed Payments

Contractors under the All Indigenous Contractors Association of Nigeria say the Federal Government did not pay the N700 billion it claimed. They resumed protests at the Ministry of Finance in Abuja over unpaid bills for 2024 projects. AICAN leaders say about 85% of members are still awaiting payment despite assurances. They had been told an initial N40 billion would be released, but only a few contractors have seen funds. The Ministry of Finance says approval of N700 billion plus an extra N70 billion for contractors does not mean immediate payment. Officials promise disbursements will begin soon.
