Serie A Newcomers Venezia Target Nigeria’s Gift Orban

Serie A Newcomers Venezia Target Nigeria’s Gift Orban

Venezia are exploring a move for Nigeria striker Gift Orban ahead of the 2026–27 season, according to transfer insiders. Orban spent last term on loan at Hellas Verona, scoring seven goals and providing three assists in 28 Serie A outings. Verona opted not to make the 23-year-old’s switch permanent after their relegation. Back in the top flight as Serie B champions, Venezia aim to strengthen their attack and avoid another drop. Orban joined Hoffenheim from Lyon in January 2025, finding the net four times in 13 Bundesliga appearances. Hoffenheim is believed to value him at around €9 million, and further interest is expected this summer.

Gift Orban impressed at Verona, but would you trust him to lead Venezia's attack next season?

He really showed his quality at Verona, so trusting him to lead Venezia's attack next season makes sense.

Scoring seven goals and three assists is solid, but adapting to a new team like Venezia can be challenging.

I'm not convinced his loan performance guarantees regular starting minutes in Serie A next term.

Venezia should monitor his preseason form closely before finalizing any deal for Gift Orban ahead of 2026–27 season.
