Acting Comptroller Esiet Takes Charge at Eastern Marine Command, Launches Regional Security Tour
The Eastern Marine Command of the Nigeria Customs Service has a new Acting Comptroller. Deputy Comptroller Esien Etim Esiet replaced Comptroller AB Jaja and immediately began a strategic tour of operational facilities across Rivers, Akwa Ibom and Cross River states. During his first phase of visits, he inspected equipment and personnel readiness at key outstations in Port Harcourt, Oron and Calabar. He stressed that sustained synergy among agencies and communities is crucial for combating smuggling and maritime crimes. Ag. Comptroller Esiet met with area controllers in free trade zones, maritime security commanders, the Cross River State police commissioner and traditional leaders in Abonnema and Calabar. He also discussed patrol boat maintenance and specialized training with SeWa West Africa Ltd. He reaffirmed full compliance with policy directions from the Comptroller-General of Customs, focusing on streamlined enforcement, motivated officers and open collaboration with licensed agents and partners.
