Revolutionising Entrepreneurship Education: NUC and TETFund Train AEFUNAI Lecturers in Effectuation Methodology
In a bid to boost innovation and employability, the National Universities Commission, backed by TETFund and GETrust, held a three-day training for academic staff of Alex Ekwueme Federal University. The programme introduced the globally acclaimed Effectuation methodology and modern teaching strategies to shift entrepreneurship education from theory to practice. Held from July 13 to 15 in the university’s E-Library, sessions covered experiential learning, project-based instruction, case studies, and core Effectuation principles—Bird-in-Hand, Affordable Loss, Crazy Quilt, Lemonade, and Pilot-in-the-Plane. Facilitators guided lecturers on designing lessons that connect entrepreneurial concepts to diverse disciplines beyond business studies. University leaders stressed that entrepreneurship skills are vital for tackling unemployment. Participants were urged to embrace these approaches, inspire students to identify opportunities, create solutions, and contribute meaningfully to national development.
