Super Eagles captain Wilfred Ndidi spoke to the media ahead of Wednesday’s friendly against Poland in Warsaw. He admitted missing out on the 2026 FIFA World Cup was painful but insisted the squad remains fully motivated. “Every footballer dreams of representing their country at the World Cup,” Ndidi said. “We didn't achieve it, but that doesn’t mean we arrived in Warsaw demotivated. On the contrary, we want to show our best side to bring some joy to our fans.” Ndidi pointed to Nigeria’s recent 3-0 Unity Cup win over Jamaica as proof of their strong form. Head coach Eric Chelle will use these friendlies against Poland and Portugal to assess players and build toward the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
