Tony Elumelu Celebrates Birthday by Empowering 3,200 Entrepreneurs with $5,000 Each
In Abuja, Tony Elumelu announced the 3,200 beneficiaries of the 2026 TEF Entrepreneurship Programme. Each entrepreneur will receive $5,000 in seed capital, business training, mentorship, and access to the TEFConnect network. Since 2010, the Tony Elumelu Foundation has invested over $100 million in more than 24,000 African entrepreneurs. Supported businesses have generated $4.2 billion in revenue, created 1.5 million jobs, and lifted 2.1 million people out of poverty. This year’s cohort spans all 54 African countries and is 51% women. Guided by his Africapitalism philosophy, Elumelu thanked partners and mentors for helping build sustainable opportunity across the continent.
