Second Angel’s Cry: A Call to Come Out of Babylon

“Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.” The second angel’s message in Revelation 14 first sounded in 1844, warning of moral decline among God’s churches. Though that fall began then, it continues as churches reject God’s special truths. False doctrines—like a man-made Sabbath and the soul’s natural immortality—still spread, making many partakers in Babylon’s errors. Before God’s final judgments, His faithful must heed this call. Just as the second angel declared Babylon fallen, so the third angel urges: “Come out of her, my people, that you be not partakers of her sins, and that you receive not of her plagues.” Let us pray for strength to resist falsehood and remain true to Scripture.
