Alexx Ekubo (1986–2026): Celebrating a Nollywood Icon

Alexx Ikenna Ekubo-Okwaraeke, known simply as Alexx Ekubo, was one of Nollywood’s most beloved leading men. Over nearly two decades, he captivated audiences with his striking looks, effortless charm, and versatile performances. Beyond acting, he excelled as a model, TV host, humanitarian, and motivational speaker. He quietly mentored young talents, supported charitable causes, and treated everyone around him with warmth and respect. His sudden passing on May 11, 2026, at Evercare Hospital in Lagos, at age 40, followed a private battle with advanced metastatic kidney cancer. His death sent shockwaves across Nigeria, as few were aware of his illness. His grace, courage, and kindness defined both his life and career. This tribute honors the legacy he leaves behind.
