A Father's Plea for Genuine Laughter

A Father's Plea for Genuine Laughter — 1 of 2
1 / 2

Once, people laughed with their hearts and their eyes. Now their smiles show only teeth while their cold gazes search behind shadows. They once shook hands sincerely, but now hands meet without warmth and slip into empty pockets. Invitations to "come again" end with closed doors on a next visit. So I have learned to wear many faces and forced smiles. I’ve mastered polite goodbyes and feigned pleasure. But I yearn to unlearn these empty gestures and relearn the laughter I once shared with you.
