Police Arrest Suspect with 174 Rounds of AK-47 Ammunition in Nasarawa
Police operatives on routine patrol along the Toto–Abaji road in Nasarawa State arrested Abubakar Abdullahi on June 22 after finding 174 rounds of 7.62mm live ammunition for AK-47 rifles concealed on him. Command’s Public Relations Officer SP Ramhan Nansel said the suspect could not account for the source, ownership or intended destination of the ammunition. He remains in custody as investigations continue to uncover the network behind this illegal arms movement. Nasarawa Commissioner of Police CP Shetima Mohammed reaffirmed the command’s commitment to cracking down on criminality and warned offenders to desist or face the full weight of the law. He urged residents to support security agencies with credible information to enhance public safety.
