Abdallah Blames Red Card and Injury for Goalless Draw with Bendel Insurance

Abdallah Blames Red Card and Injury for Goalless Draw with Bendel Insurance

Warri Wolves coach Hassan Abdallah blamed a red card and a key injury for his team’s defensive shift in their goalless draw with Bendel Insurance in Ozoro. The South-South derby ended 0-0. Bendel Insurance moved up to seventh with 45 points, while Warri Wolves sit 11th on 40 points with seven matches remaining. Abdallah explained that his right-back was sent off and midfielder Chukwuemeka Kalu suffered a knee injury after all substitutions were used. “We had no option but to defend and secure a point,” he said. He remains optimistic and urged his players to learn from past mistakes and finish the season strongly.

Spot on! They need sharper discipline, calm tackles, and cooler heads to dodge those reds.

I see the concern, but maybe they should tighten discipline rather than overhaul tactics after one card.

Shifting to a defensive setup after the red card seemed predictable, though it might not fully explain why the game ended without a goal.

Relying solely on the red card excuse ignores Bendel Insurance's strong midfield control throughout the match.

Improving discipline and rotating defensive lineups could help Warri Wolves respond better if they face similar setbacks.
