Mike Bamiloye: Expecting an 84-Year-Old Pastor to Lead a Protest Is Unfair

Mike Bamiloye: Expecting an 84-Year-Old Pastor to Lead a Protest Is Unfair — 1 of 2
1 / 2

Veteran cleric Mike Bamiloye has defended Pastor Enoch Adeboye after calls for him to lead nationwide protests against insecurity. Bamiloye argues that at 84 years, Adeboye’s calling is to pray for peace rather than march in demonstrations. He recalls that the only time the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God joined a protest was in February 2020, under directives from the Christian Association of Nigeria and the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria. Actress Julianna Olayode also weighed in, reminding critics that pastors serve a spiritual mandate under divine authority. On social media, Bamiloye further urged ministers to balance their ministry with family life, warning against marital abuse under the guise of spiritual privilege.
