128-Year-Old Imo Grandpa Recounts Life Since 1914

An elderly man from Umuchoke Obazu in Mbaitoli LGA, Imo State, claims to be 128 years old and still leads an active life. Pa Anthony Anyiam Nkemakolam is said to have a sharp memory, good eyesight, and enough strength to carry out his daily chores with minimal help. According to family records, he was already married by 1918 and even remembers being a youth when World War I began in 1914. Despite his age, he reads his Bible without glasses and remains mentally alert. Reflecting on his long life, Pa Anyiam urges young people to learn a practical skill and become self-reliant. He credits his longevity to God’s grace, regular physical activity, discipline, and living peacefully with others.

It's remarkable that at 128, he still handles daily chores with minimal help and remembers events from Nigeria's early 20th-century history.
