Armed Thugs Steal Three Packs of PVCs During INEC Distribution in Osun

Suspected armed thugs attacked INEC officials distributing Permanent Voter Cards at Oyinlola DC Primary School in Ward 2, Odo-Otin LGA, Osun State. The attackers allegedly fired into the air, forcing officials to flee before taking three packs of PVCs. Police said the incident occurred amid heightened tension ahead of the Osun governorship election. The Commissioner of Police has ordered an investigation, while tactical and intelligence teams have been deployed to recover the cards and arrest those responsible. The command also said calm has been restored around Mayfair Garage in Ile-Ife after a separate gathering of suspected thugs temporarily disrupted public order. Residents and witnesses were urged to share useful information with the police and avoid actions that could worsen tensions.
