Feeling Abandoned by Your Spouse? Finding Biblical Peace
I know it feels unfair to be left behind. But God’s Word remains true even when you are wronged. You are called to pursue peace, not a divorce, and to remain unmarried or seek reconciliation while your spouse lives. Rest assured that God will never abandon you. The Bible instructs, “If the unbeliever leaves, let them go. A believing brother or sister is not enslaved in such circumstances. God has called us to live in peace” (1 Corinthians 7:15). This passage calls you to accept their departure but does not permit remarriage. Scripture also says, “A wife must not separate from her husband. But if she does, she must remain unmarried or be reconciled to her husband” (1 Corinthians 7:10-11). And, “A married woman is bound to her husband as long as he lives” (Romans 7:2-3). These verses underscore the commitment to marriage and God’s design for reconciliation.
