It’s clear which ADC faction will emerge: a shell aligned with the APC. They’ll either run placeholder candidates or back President Tinubu, making the contest a mere formality. The 2023 presidential election cost about ₦300–₦355 billion. Estimates for 2027 approach ₦870 billion. Why spend nearly a trillion on a preordained exercise? We might as well dispense with elections, coronate Tinubu, and save the money.
