Tinubu Names Retired Maj. Gen. Fadewa as Homeland Security Adviser
President Bola Tinubu has appointed retired Major General Adeyinka A. Fadewa as Special Adviser on Homeland Security. The Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation announced the decision, highlighting Fadewa’s “exceptional record of service, strategic expertise and outstanding contributions” to Nigeria’s security architecture. Signed by Secretary to the Government Senator George Akume and issued by Permanent Secretary Dr. Ibrahim Abubakar Kana, the approval aims to strengthen internal security coordination and intelligence-driven operations. Fadewa brings over three decades of experience in military intelligence, counter-terrorism and inter-agency collaboration. He previously served as Principal General Staff Officer to the National Security Adviser and helped establish the Intelligence Fusion Centre to improve threat assessment and response.
