The believers in Antioch were first called Christians because their conduct, speech and daily lives reflected Christ. The name described what people saw in them, not merely their membership of a religion. Did Jesus, Paul, Peter, James or John present Christianity as a new religion? Jesus said He came to fulfil the law. Yet many Christians teach that the law is dead. Is there a difference between being Christlike and simply identifying as an adherent of Christianity? Where does the word “Christianity” appear in the Bible?
