Mom Finds Fentanyl Hidden in Barbie Doll Packaging
A mother was alarmed to discover fentanyl taped inside the packaging of a Barbie doll she bought for her daughter. On March 21, Jade Adams purchased the doll at a Cargo Largo store in Independence. Store security alerted the Independent Police Department after spotting a suspicious powder on the doll’s backing. Police confirmed the substance was fentanyl. They traced five compromised dolls, recovered four, and are actively searching for the final unit. No injuries have been reported and the dolls themselves were not harmed. Adams returned to the store to warn staff and urged other parents to check new toys thoroughly. “It’s terrifying to think how things could have gone worse,” she said.
