Partey Denied Canadian Visa, Will Miss Ghana’s World Cup Opener

Partey Denied Canadian Visa, Will Miss Ghana’s World Cup Opener

Thomas Partey will not feature in Ghana’s first World Cup match after Canadian authorities refused his visa application. The midfielder faces multiple rape and sexual assault charges in London but has not been convicted. FIFA said visa decisions are made by host governments, not the organisation. Partey remains eligible for Ghana’s next fixtures in the United States against England in Boston and Croatia in Philadelphia.
