Abuja Police Commissioner’s Intelligence-Led Strategy Dismantles Kidnap and Robbery Syndicates
The Police Community Relations Committee in Abuja has praised Commissioner of Police Ahmed Sanusi for significant strides in curbing crime across the Federal Capital Territory. Since his appointment as the 35th Commissioner, Sanusi’s focus on intelligence gathering and proactive patrols has led to the disruption of organised kidnapping rings and one-chance robbery syndicates. PCRC Chairman Dr Rufus Ebegba highlighted the recovery of ransom funds and arms, along with the creation of the Violent Crime Response Unit, as key reforms that have boosted the command’s capacity to tackle violent crime. He also commended Sanusi’s zero-tolerance stance on extortion and misconduct within the force. The committee reaffirmed its support for continued collaboration between the police command, other security agencies and local communities to sustain the security gains and rebuild public trust in the Nigeria Police Force.
