From EndSARS Spark to Ballot Box Power: A Roadmap for Nigerian Youth
I remember the unity and passion of EndSARS—the songs, the flags, the shared hope for change. But after the street protests faded, our movement lost momentum and became a memory instead of a platform for lasting influence. Protest without structure is like a fire without a hearth. It burns bright but seldom builds a foundation. If Nigerian youth want real change, we must move from emotion to organization. That means learning local government politics, joining or forming parties, and mastering the unglamorous work behind the scenes. We also need to fund capable young candidates and sustain campaigns long before election day. Finally, we must turn out in large numbers at the polls. Our demographic majority will only reshape policy when we show up consistently, not just on protest days. Quiet, steady commitment wins elections and changes budgets. Let the energy of EndSARS guide us into politics with strategy, structure, and patience. The ballot box is our unfinished assignment—let’s build it brick by brick.
