Fashola to Attend 2026 ITTF Africa Youth Cup Final as Nigeria's Matthew Kuti Contends
Former Minister of Works and Housing and ex-Lagos governor Babatunde Fashola is expected to attend the final of the 2026 ITTF Africa Youth Cup in Accra, Ghana, on Wednesday. The two-day competition is named the Babatunde Raji Fashola Cup in recognition of his support for African table tennis, including the Lagos Table Tennis Classics launched in 2013. African Table Tennis Federation president Wahid Oshodi and other officials are also expected at the final. Tunisia's Wassim Essid and Egypt's Yara Elbadawy lead the U-19 seeds, while Uganda's Joseph Sebatindira and Tunisia's Ela Saidi top the U-15 rankings. Nigeria's Matthew Kuti is among the contenders after helping Nigeria defeat top-seeded Egypt at the ITTF Africa Youth Championships.
