APC’s Oyebanji Dominates at Senate Leader Bamidele’s Polling Unit
The APC governorship candidate and incumbent Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, won a commanding lead at the Opeyemi Bamidele polling unit on Saturday. Polling officer Elizabeth Oregbemeh reported that Oyebanji scored 164 votes, while the PDP candidate, Wole Oluyede, received eight. The ADP’s Ayodeji Ojo trailed with one vote. Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele praised the smooth conduct of the election and the impressive voter turnout across Ekiti. He also commended INEC for deploying officials and materials promptly to all 16 local government areas. According to INEC figures, of the 1,059,360 registered voters in Ekiti, 1,028,929 collected their Permanent Voter Cards ahead of the polls.
