Honouring Prof. Segun Osoba: Pioneer of African Socialist Thought
Professor Segun Osoba shaped generations of student activists at the Ife University campus from 1978 to 1990. He studied History in the USSR and later co-authored the influential 1976 Minority Constitutional Report with Yusuf Bala Usman. Osoba was a key figure in the 30-year resistance against military rule and joined fellow Marxist scholars to study China’s education system in 1976. His life and work remain an inspiration for anti-imperialist movements across Africa. May his legacy spur us to continue the struggle.
