Petroleum Minister and TotalEnergies Chiefs Pledge Stronger Sustainable Energy Partnership
Senator Heineken Lokpobiri met with TotalEnergies executives in Abuja to deepen collaboration on sustainable energy solutions across Africa. The delegation included Mike Sangster, Senior Vice President for Africa Exploration and Production, and Mathieu Bouyer, In-Country Chairman of TotalEnergies. During the meeting, TotalEnergies shared updates on key projects, operational activities and strategic priorities on the continent. Lokpobiri described the discussions as productive and welcomed the insights into the company’s future plans. The minister praised TotalEnergies for its leadership in innovation, sustainability and long-term value creation. He reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to strong partnerships with investors and stakeholders in Nigeria’s oil and gas sector. Lokpobiri stressed that close cooperation between government and private sector remains critical for building a resilient, efficient and sustainable energy future in Africa.
