Ibom Air Launches Scheduled Uyo–Accra Flights as Governor Eno Flies Inaugural Service
Governor Umo Eno led by example on Sunday by travelling on the first scheduled Ibom Air commercial flight between Uyo and Accra. The twice-weekly service launches less than a month after he promised the route would become operational by the end of June. Speaking in an in-flight interview, Governor Eno praised God for the milestone in Akwa Ibom’s aviation and tourism development. He said more frequencies will follow as part of the state’s plan to boost business, investment and leisure. Operated on a CRJ-900 Bombardier aircraft, the Uyo–Accra journey takes one hour and 20 minutes. This new link positions Victor Attah International Airport as a regional gateway with seamless connectivity for travellers across Nigeria and West Africa.
