Anambra Sports Commissioner Hails Stakeholder Support, Unveils Grassroots Plan
The Commissioner for Youth Development and Sports in Anambra State, Patrick Agha Mba, hosted a thank-you luncheon for sports promoters, club owners, and association leaders in Awka. He praised their support and outlined plans to position sports at the heart of the state’s creative economy. Mba introduced a policy framework to establish Youth and Sports Departments in every local government area. He also proposed recurring LGA sports festivals to revive local competitions and discover young talent. He urged continued collaboration, constructive feedback, and accountability from all stakeholders. The Commissioner reaffirmed his commitment to making Anambra and the South East a regional hub for sports development and economic growth.
