Sessegnon Strike Secures 1-0 Win for Fulham Without Iwobi to Fuel European Ambitions

Sessegnon Strike Secures 1-0 Win for Fulham Without Iwobi to Fuel European Ambitions

Fulham faced Aston Villa at Craven Cottage without Alex Iwobi, who sat out injured. The hosts refused to let his absence hold them back. A tense first half ended with Emiliano Martínez pushing a header into Ryan Sessegnon’s path. The left-back calmly finished to hand Fulham the lead. Chances came and went after the break as Fulham looked to double their advantage. Villa’s best openings fell to Ollie Watkins and Tammy Abraham, but neither could convert. The victory lifts Fulham to within a point of seventh place as they chase a return to Europe. Villa remain in the Champions League race but must pick up six more points.

It's impressive how Sessegnon stepped up, but relying on a single moment to drive European hopes seems a bit optimistic.

I'm not convinced a left-back's goal foreshadows a deep European run; consistency and squad depth truly matter, no be only luck wey dem need.

Fulham should integrate more attacking options and rotate players to keep energy high as they tackle European fixtures.
