1 / 3

Former NFF president Amaju Pinnick says 18-year-old winger Zadok Yohanna is firmly on Nigeria’s football radar. Yohanna has agreed a five-year contract with Brighton & Hove Albion that kicks in when the summer transfer window opens. The AIK Stockholm product earned his move after scoring two goals and setting up three in seven Allsvenskan appearances. In a recent interview, Pinnick described Yohanna as “the future” of the Super Eagles. He revealed that the NFF is already in talks with the young star and will continue to monitor his progress in the Premier League.

It's interesting that Pinnick highlights an 18-year-old after a Swedish club's success; bigger challenges await him at Premier League level.

I'm not convinced a move this early guarantees national team impact—experience in local leagues still matters for development.

Clubs and agents should ensure he gets consistent playing time on loan if needed, to maintain momentum before full Premier League integration.
