Governor Lawal Injects Billions into 24 Health Facilities Across Zamfara

Zamfara State Governor Dauda Lawal has approved a multi-billion naira fund to renovate nine general hospitals and 14 primary healthcare centres across all 14 local government areas. Each general hospital – including those in Talata Mafara, Gummi and Gusau – will receive major upgrades and new medical equipment worth N1.8 billion in total. The 14 PHCs in areas such as Tsafe, Kaura Namoda and Marudun will be expanded with allocations ranging from N1 billion to N1.5 billion per facility. The 2026 state budget now stands at N871.337 billion. It dedicates 83% to capital expenditure, with N87 billion specifically for health and further investments in infrastructure, security, education and agriculture.
