Makinde Meets Families of Oriire Kidnap Victims in Late-Night Session

Makinde Meets Families of Oriire Kidnap Victims in Late-Night Session

Governor Seyi Makinde met with families of the Oriire abductees at Ahoro-Esiele community late on Saturday. He urged calm and assured that his administration is working around the clock with security agencies to bring their loved ones home safely. Makinde acknowledged the families’ pain and said he holds security meetings twice daily to intensify rescue efforts. He condemned the abductors’ actions as cruel and inhumane and paid tribute to security personnel, noting nearly 200 Amotekun operatives have died fighting crime in Oyo State. Relatives such as Prof. Wole Alamu and Mr. Aliu Saidi pleaded for urgent action. After addressing the crowd, the governor held a closed-door meeting with parents and relatives to share updates on the rescue operations.

What evidence suggests that a nighttime meeting actually speeds up rescue efforts?

A late-night session sounds impressive, but meetings alone don't guarantee results. We need clear updates on actual field operations.

Perhaps the community can set up a volunteer network to share credible tips with security agencies and track any leads more effectively.
