Lagos Police Tighten Security at UTME Exam Centres
Lagos State police have tightened security at designated centres as thousands of candidates sit for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination. Commissioner of Police Fatai Tijani says the deployment follows guidance from the Inspector-General of Police to safeguard candidates and maintain order during the exams scheduled from 16 to 25 April. Officers will work with other security agencies to prevent malpractice and ensure a calm environment. Candidates and guardians are urged to cooperate fully with security personnel and report any suspicious activity to the nearest station or emergency lines for a smooth examination process.
