Super Eagles Eye Africa’s World Cup Win Record Ahead of 2026
Nine African teams will compete at the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the USA, Canada and Mexico, and Nigeria’s Super Eagles hope their record of six World Cup wins remains unbeaten. Since their debut in 1994, the Super Eagles have won more World Cup matches than any other African nation. They claimed two wins in both 1994 and 1998, added a victory in 2014, and secured their sixth in 2018. Morocco, Ghana and Senegal each have five World Cup wins and will challenge Nigeria’s mark in 2026. The Atlas Lions, buoyed by their semi-final run in 2022, look poised to lead Africa’s bid for more wins.
