US, Nigeria Launch Strategic Education Partnership in Abuja
On June 20, 2026, former Delaware Governor and University of Delaware Professor Emeritus Dr. Bethany Hall-Long met in Abuja with Ambassador Emmanuel Idiagi of the Intellectual Giants in Africa Foundation and robotics expert Michael Oche Oche from The Murdock-Thompson Center for Teachers. They explored new initiatives to enhance classroom teaching, empower educators across communities, and foster sustainable development through international collaboration. As a gesture of friendship, Dr. Hall-Long received an engraved notebook symbolizing the shared commitment to advancing education. The delegation then visited the Durumi IDP camp alongside Nest of Life Foundation and Lions Club International, providing humanitarian relief and witnessing the resilience of displaced families firsthand. This engagement represents a significant step in strengthening US-Nigeria ties, with hopes that it will spur further investments in education, humanitarian service, and community development.
