Katsina Troops Arrest 25-Year-Old Gunrunner Linked to Terror Kingpins
Troops from 17 Brigade under Operation FANSAN YANMA have arrested a 25-year-old gunrunner in Wagini, Batsari LGA, Katsina State. He was identified as Saidu Rabiu. Acting on credible intelligence, soldiers moved to the General Hospital in Batsari on May 15, 2026, at about 10:20 a.m., where the suspect was receiving treatment. He was arrested without resistance and taken in for interrogation. Investigators link him to supplying military-grade weapons and ammunition to terror kingpins operating in the North-West, including Bello Turji, Ado Aliero and the late commanders known as Kachalla Black and Yellow. He remains in custody as forces probe wider arms networks fueling attacks in the region.
