Katsina Commissions Radda Model Secondary School with Smart Learning Facilities
Kwara State Governor and NGF Chair Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq joined Governor Dikko Radda to inaugurate the new Radda Model Secondary School in Katsina. The project falls under the administration’s “Building Your Future” agenda. Governor Radda said the idea for smart schools in the state began over three decades ago. He added that the campus is designed to equip students for emerging fields like artificial intelligence, robotics, coding and digital governance. Admission was strictly merit-based across all 34 local government areas to ensure equity. The school features modern science laboratories, ICT infrastructure, digital learning tools, reliable electricity, libraries, sports facilities and boarding hostels. It will initially admit about 1,000 students, supported by over 7,300 newly recruited and 18,000 trained teachers. Officials called on development partners and the private sector to support scholarships, infrastructure partnerships and teacher development programmes. The commissioning attracted top government officials, traditional rulers and key education stakeholders.
