D’Tigress Lose 79-88 to Lynx in Second US Tour Game
Nigeria’s senior women’s basketball team suffered a second straight defeat on their U.S. tour, falling 79-88 to the Minnesota Lynx at Kansas City’s T-Mobile Center on April 28. Assistant coach Wani Muganguzi led the squad in the absence of head coach Rena Wakama. Despite the loss, the D’Tigress pushed the Lynx across all four quarters and showed clear improvement after their 89-63 opening defeat to the Los Angeles Sparks. This tour forms part of preparations for the 2026 FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup in Berlin. Nigeria will compete in Group B alongside France, South Korea, and Hungary. With one game left in the series, the D’Tigress will look to build on their progress when they face the Indiana Fever on May 2.
