Pastor Dayo Ekong Elected NDC Deputy Chairman for South-West Amid Obidient Movement Backlash
I am honoured to have been elected Deputy Chairman of the NDC South-West. Leading our region’s delegation to the first-ever NDC National Convention in Abuja was a privilege. We delivered one of the convention’s most coordinated and visible teams, engaging in strategic meetings and consultations to shape our party’s direction ahead of 2027. My journey includes serving as Lagos State chairman of the Labour Party before joining the NDC. Tensions with the Obidient Movement date back to 2023, when disputes over party administration led to my removal from Labour Party. That rivalry resurfaced, with some now demanding my removal from the NDC, blaming me for internal setbacks and influencing other figures who declined to join our ranks. Despite these challenges, I remain committed to strengthening party unity and expanding our support base across the South-West. Your continued engagement and feedback will help us build a resilient and inclusive NDC.
