Freshly Commissioned Osun Flyover Develops Sinkhole, Bridge Cordoned Off
A section of the newly commissioned flyover at the Lameco area of Osogbo, Osun State, has sunk just 23 days after inauguration, raising fresh safety concerns among residents and motorists. The incident reportedly happened after rainfall in the early hours of Friday. The affected portion developed a visible depression and cracks, forcing road users to divert and slow down while passing through the area. A visit to the scene showed a sunken asphalt surface on one lane of the bridge. The road has since been cordoned off, with Amotekun operatives deployed to restrict movement and prevent access. Residents and commuters have called for urgent repairs, while the state government has yet to issue an official statement on the development.
